By Nadia Chandra Transcribed by Natasha Roldán Yes! Canada’s own five time Juno Award Winner Exco Levi has released his sophomore album entitled Narrative. The album, which was in the making for a year and half prior to its release on Nov 24th, was produced by Silly Walks Discotheque one of Germany´s foundation Reggae Soundsystems. Narrative includes guest appearances by international artists like Sizzla Kalonji, and sees contributions by Penthouse Records, Raging Fyah, and Mike Kfos. Exco Levi entered the Canadian music scene after emigrating in 2005 from Jamaica, since then he has conquered Canadian and international audiences with his unique take on the rhythms we all love to dance. “His songs have given voice to a nation and helped forge an entirely new style of music and rhythm that is revolutionary, fiery, scathing, loving and stinging.” - Exco Levi Exco Levi released his first album Country Man in 2015 which achieved success not only in Canada but also across Europe and Africa. Since then, Exco Levi has continued to make music that resonates with fans around the world. In keeping with his uplifting sound, Narrative includes thirteen tracks that appeal to different tastes in music. Tracks like “Don’t Cry” and “Wiseman” show his aim to capture a different audience. When you listen to Narrative the one word that comes to mind is ‘growth’. "My music is touching on many sub-topics, real issues that are going on, so this is what the album is about. That's why I named it Narrative, because it's telling different stories. It's a part of me that I present to the world!"- Exco Levi Exco Levi has definitely taken his sophomore album and his artistry to the next level.
