nobetternina (@nobetternina) Netflix recently bought a documentary on legendary rapper and producer Kanye West for $30M, which has been in the works for the past 21 years. Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah of Coodie & Chike are the pair behind the documentary and were also two responsible for the visuals for “Through the Wire” and the third version of the “Jesus Walks” video. Clarence says he’s been documenting never before seen archival footage from Kanye’s career since the early 90’s, including some of his milestone moments. Kanye’s early beginnings of trying to get into the music industry, the death of his mother and his 2020 presidential campaign are all a part of the footage that will be included in the documentary. Although Kanye hasn’t publicly made a statement supporting the documentary, an alleged source close to the situation says that Kanye basically gave his blessings to Coodie and Chike by allowing them to film him for the past 21 years. The untitled documentary is set to be released later this year. |
