With his last album True to Self having dropped in 2017, fans have been waiting patiently for a new project from talented R&B singer Bryson Tiller for a while now. And it looks like the wait is finally over!
He’s been holding fans over with extremely sparse releases since his last album, following up with singles like Slept on You, a feature on DJ Khaled’s Wild Thoughts, Insecure for HBO’s hit TV series Insecure and more recently potential debut singles from his upcoming album Inhale and Always Forever.
Before announcing a new album, fans were happy to hear that Bryson had decided to release a deluxe version of his wildly successful debut album T R A P S O U L, just last week. The release of the deluxe version of T R A P S O U L was just a week shy of the five year anniversary of the album, and featured the songs Just Another Interlude, Self Righteous, and Rambo (Last Blood) featuring The Weeknd.
Bryson claimed that fans had been constantly asking for those three songs to be released on streaming services for forever, and it appears he wasn’t done granting their wishes there.
Bryson started the week off with a tweet that read, “real fans know the countdown started months ago. Anniversary 10/2”, along with a video teasing the album. The tweet comes literally months after he did announce back in 2019 that he was waiting for clearance samples in order to drop this next album.
The title for the album makes sense since that is the five year anniversary of T R A P S O U L, and he also teased fans even further hinting at a possible second album before the year ends.
He quoted one of his past tweets that read, “NEW ALBUM THIS FALL” and wrote “& WINTER? ❄️?” before replying to himself saying, “ok let me get to work then”.
Now, I personally don’t know if I would count on two albums from Bryson in one year after he just took a three year hiatus, but that’s just me. All in all, I’m sure we’re in for a real treat later this week!
