Asian musicians are finally getting the flowers they deserve and in honour of Asian Heritage Month, VIBE105 discusses FIVE emerging musicians of Asian heritage who you need to look out for in the music scene. Raveena Indian-American artist Raveena is a new up-and-coming artist who captivates her listeners with her dreamy R&B sound. Ravenna is not shy of including her roots in her music as she often draws from Indian and American influences both visually and sonically. The 25-year-old artist’s passion to create new aged Filipino music has brought her to a state where she is ready to take her music to a completely new level. NIKI captivates listeners with playful melodic sounds and NIKI’s lyrics push her further into the pop territory than traditional R&B. But her catchy style makes her different from the rest. The part Filipino singer-songwriter-actress signed a recording contract with Republic Records in 2015 and is releasing charting hits ever since. Best known for staring in Pitch Perfect, Hailee dived into the music scene with pop jams that often embody notions of female empowerment.
