Last month, on July 31, Toronto lost the city’s influential Hip Hop producer, artist and, DJ - Swiff LaRoc. Also known as Born Swiff, LaRoc passed away from cancer at 47 years old. Swiff LaRoc’s family and friends joined together in memory of Swiff Laroc (born Howard Nicholson in Kingston, Jamaica) for his celebration of life in Brampton on Sunday August 19 and later for his funeral and visitation on August 24-25. Carnival Kingdom – the largest and most anticipated concert in Toronto for the past seven years was scheduled to take place Saturday - August 04, 2018. This second biggest Caribana event was unfortunately called off just two hours before the start of the concert – and attendees had already started lining up for this sold out event.
