With the first season ending in August of 2019, fans of HBOâs smash hit series Euphoria have been a little impatient while waiting for the second season to start. Season 2 was originally supposed to have aired sometime during 2020, but due to COVID-19 all production was stopped, forcing the showâs production crew to push the new anticipated air date to sometime in 2021. However, there was recently confirmation that there will be something to hold fans over with in the meantime.
Both Drake, who executive produced the show, and Zendaya, who plays the showâs main character Rue, recently confirmed via Instagram that there will be a 2-episode special airing on HBO on December 6th.
âBoth episodes are confirmed to have been filmed under strict COVID-19 guidelines, according to sources close to Variety. The first of the two episodes is said to be a holiday-themed episode titled âTrouble Donât Last Always.â, following Rue as she celebrates Christmas and relapses after being left by Jules, who is played by Hunter Schafer, at a train station.
âDetails on the second episode havenât been released, but itâs sure to draw fans in considering Zendayaâs recent Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series and last yearâs Peopleâs Choice Award for Favourite Drama TV star, for her role as Rue in the series.
Iâve already got my popcorn ready, how about you?
