By Aicha Marie SZA Previews music from her upcoming album, also from her new documentary Where The Hell Have You Been: Road to CRTL. Those of you who are SZA fans can probably imagine what the past few years have been like for the female artist. The neo-soul singer from Kendrick Lamar’s music group TDE, went from being unknown to an R&B star with the massive audience she’s gained from her second EP Z. Being a rising star, the pressure to continue to satisfy listeners arises. With the eagerness of her new fans, SZA was gladly willing to work on the succeeding album titled A to fulfill her new fans’ excitement for new music. However, SZA was faced with TDE holding her album back, which caused her to give up and announce that she’s quitting via twitter, and frustratingly notifying Punch, the president of TDE that she’ll be leaving her album release up to him. Although these temporary feelings alerted many of us, SZA did not give up. She finally announced that we can expect the album this February third, and hence victoriously renamed A to CTRL. Yet, the battle was not over! We are mid-way through February and still no album! So where the hell has SZA been you ask? The R&B singer dropped a mini documentary in response to the question that’s been raiding her mentions and comment section, to remind us how bittersweet the process has been for her. With her fans in mind, she made sure to include snippets of songs from her upcoming album to minimize our impatience.
