Mariah Carey is having her moment, darling! The icon hit the stage to perform some of her biggest hits while accepting this year’s Video Vanguard Award, Mariah’s first VMA.
Mariah hit the stage in a lingerie-inspired silk robe and later revealed a dazzling gold romper underneath.
She kicked off her medley, performing “Sugar Sweet” from her upcoming album, as well as classics like “Honey” and “Fantasy,” “Heartbreaker,” “Obsessed,” “Like That,” and “We Belong Together.”
Ariana Grande presented the award to Mariah, saying she is the “reason so many of us sing.”
“As a vocalist, there’s only one queen, and that’s Mariah,” Ariana said. She also bowed while giving Mariah the award!
“I can’t believe I’m getting my first VMA tonight. I just have one question: What in the Sam Hill were you waiting for?” Mariah amusingly remarked.
Her 16th studio album, Here For It All, is out Sept. 26
