No Black performer had won in the Supporting Dramatic Actor category in the Emmys’ 77 years.

Previously, Giancarlo Esposito, O-T Fagbenle, and Michael K. Williams were nominated in the category.

Hailing from Toronto, DJ MelBoogie is one of Canada’s most renowned female DJs, with a career spanning over 30 years. Known for her contributions to community and music organizations, she made history as the DJ for the 2023 JUNO Awards’ tribute to 50 years of hip-hop, sharing the stage with Canadian icons like Kardinal Offishall, Michie Mee, and Choclair in a performance watched by 2.2 million viewers nationwide.
