The Kid Mero Takes the Mic in New York City

The legendary Hip-Hop radio station Hot 97 in New York has announced the appointment of The Kid Mero as the new host of its morning show, titled “Hot 97 Mornings with Mero.”

The show replaces the long-standing “Ebro in the Morning,” which concluded in December 2025 after over a decade.

The Kid Mero, whose real name is Joel Armogasto Martinez, is recognized for his multifaceted career as a New York Times best-selling author, a Writers Guild Award winner, and a popular media personality with a history in comedy and cultural commentary.

Hailing from Toronto, DJ MelBoogie is one of Canada’s most renowned female DJs, with a career spanning over 30 years.
