Claudia Sandz is an honors graduate of Centennial College’s Communications and Media Fundamentals program and Humber College’s Radio Broadcasting program. She has co-hosted the live-streamed podcast Gringo Latino Talks, written blogs for popular Canadian Latin brand Barrio at TorontoLatino.com, and assisted Friday Ricky Dread on the WeLoveHipHop Network.

Veracia Ankrah, aka “Vee Aye,” is a music and culture journalist based in Vaughan, just outside Toronto. A self-described walking contradiction, she’s a womanist and hip-hop enthusiast who embodies the spirit of Lauryn Hill, Living Single’s Maxine Shaw, and Grey’s Anatomy’s Cristina Yang.

DJ Mel Boogie

Hailing from Toronto, DJ MelBoogie is one of Canada’s most renowned female DJs, with a career spanning over 30 years. Known for her contributions to community and music organizations, she made history as the DJ for the 2023 JUNO Awards’ tribute to 50 years of hip-hop, sharing the stage with Canadian icons like Kardinal Offishall, Michie Mee, and Choclair in a performance watched by 2.2 million viewers nationwide.

As chair of the JUNO Rap Advisory Board, MelBoogie has worked to amplify women’s voices in the industry. She also co-founded the Black Music Brunch with Maestro Fresh Wes, an annual event celebrating contributors to Black music in Canada.
