She admits she struggled with exhaustion after her show Insecure ended, describing that time as just “work, work, work.”
Now, she uses a simple one-word strategy to recharge: “Leaving.”
She explains that while she knows not everyone can travel, “Sometimes leaving for me is just turning my phone off.”
Rae says she was inspired by her father, who once ignored family calls for two days before resurfacing to simply say, “I’m fine.”
She jokes that she wants to channel his energy, noting, “The courage and the audacity to do that… I need to adopt some of that.”
Setting these boundaries is crucial as she enters a busy year following the success of her recent movie, One of Them Days.
She also recently signed a major three-year partnership with Paramount to produce new television and film projects.
