The famed hip-hop group from Long Island released its appearance on the famed concert series Tuesday, Mar. 3, and it serves as another reminder of the group’s legacy, longevity and enviable catalog. Surviving members Posdnous and Maseo took the stage with a full backing band and the spirit of the late Dave “Trugoy” Jolicoeur informed the proceedings.

The Tiny Desk dropping on March 3 isn’t incidental, as the date has been christened De La Soul Day since Dave’s untimely passing. “Throughout the planning process for this show, both remaining members were candid about what Dave would and wouldn’t approve of creatively, but remained open to ideas to honor him,” NPR says. “The result was a thoughtful balance of classics like Stakes is High and Breakadawn with highlights from Cabin in the Sky.
