FX has officially expanded the “Snowfall” universe with a yet-to-be-titled spinoff that will explore West Coast Hip-Hop.

The spinoff will feature nine new cast members in recurring roles, including familiar faces such as Mykelti Williamson and Quincy Chad, who reprises his role as “Big Deon” from the original series.

The narrative is set in the ’90s in Los Angeles, following characters Wanda (Gail Bean) and Leon (Isaiah John) as they navigate the rise of West Coast rap amid gang violence and musical commercialization.

“Snowfall,” which aired for six seasons from 2017 to 2023, explored the crack cocaine epidemic and its impact on Los Angeles, gaining critical acclaim and establishing Damson Idris’s career.
