The WNBA Draft took an unexpected turn for the Toronto Tempo Monday night when elite UCLA point guard Kiki Rice unexpectedly slid to the sixth overall pick.
The historic moment was capped off by a surprise welcome from Raptors legend Vince Carter, who urged the young star to “go make her legacy” in the city.
Kiki now joins a loaded backcourt, ready to lead the Tempo for their anticipated debut at Coca-Cola Coliseum on May 8.
