YG Detained Before Major Verzuz Amid Ongoing Murder Investigation

YG was detained in Burbank, California, during a SWAT operation executing a search warrant connected to the ongoing murder investigation of fellow rapper Drakeo the Ruler.

He was released without being arrested early Thursday morning.

Authorities have not publicly identified YG as a suspect in the investigation.

The search warrant is related to the unsolved homicide of Drakeo the Ruler, who was fatally stabbed at the Once Upon a Time in LA festival on December 18, 2021, in a public incident that raised questions about security lapses.

YG’s detention occurred just hours before he was scheduled to perform in a major Verzuz battle against The Game.
