Toronto’s newest public bathrooms are doing something most public bathrooms desperately need: cleaning themselves.

The new washrooms at Biidaasige Park in the Port Lands automatically clean, disinfect and dry the toilet bowl after every use. The floor also gets its own wash cycle every 10 to 15 visitors, using sprinklers to push dirt toward a drain.
The whole setup is designed to be mostly contactless, helping keep things cleaner while cutting down on germs.
There is one feature you definitely need to know about, though: you only get 20 minutes inside.
Once your time is up, the doors automatically open.
So yeah… Toronto finally gave us futuristic public bathrooms. Just maybe don’t choose this particular bathroom for your extended TikTok-and-scroll session. 😂
