Beyoncé, Tina Knowles and Kelly Rowland were back in their hometown of Houston on Tuesday to cut the ribbon on a brand new supportive housing development.

The project transforms the former Knowles-Rowland Center for Youth into the Knowles-Rowland House, providing permanent homes for people who have experienced chronic homelessness.

The newly renovated building features 31 housing units, with 16 of those spaces specifically designed to accommodate residents with mobility or sensory impairments.

Through a partnership with the Bread of Life nonprofit, residents will have direct access to crucial on-site services like mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment and life skills training.

The property holds a deep personal history for the artists, as the original youth center was built in 1999 using the earnings from the very first Destiny’s Child single.

The new Knowles-Rowland House continues their long legacy of giving back to St. John’s Downtown Church, where both women were longtime members.
