Drake is officially fighting back against a brand new copyright lawsuit over the hook of his hit song “Janice STFU.”
Aviel Calev Hirschfield filed the lawsuit on October 16, claiming he wrote and recorded a demo of the exact same hook in January 2026.
Hirschfield said he sent the audio files to producers associated with Drake’s team but never heard back, only to later hear his lyrics and melody on the “Iceman” album released in May.

Hirschfield is demanding a jury trial, along with unspecified financial damages and profits, citing recording metadata to prove his timeline.
Representatives for Drake strongly pushed back against the claims, saying the allegations are “categorically, unequivocally, and completely denied.”
Drake’s team said he had absolutely no knowledge of Hirschfield and called the entire lawsuit a “manufactured and baseless attempt” to exploit his fame.
