Beyoncé surprised fans on July 4 with the release of her new single “Morning Dew (Donk),” marking her first solo release since 2024’s Grammy-winning album “Cowboy Carter.”
The song celebrates the upcoming 20th anniversary of her acclaimed 2006 album “B’Day,” alongside a special reissue scheduled for September 4, coinciding with her birthday.

“Morning Dew (Donk)” features contributions from notable collaborators, including Pharrell Williams, The-Dream, and Darius Dixson, and combines nostalgic elements with modern production to resonate with both longtime fans and new audiences.
The track was recorded in 2013 and had long been rumored as a “vault track,” creating excitement among fans upon its official release, which included a black-and-white lyric video featuring archival footage.
Fan engagement was immediate, with the song garnering nearly 600,000 views on YouTube within hours, highlighting the ongoing influence of “B’Day” and fans’ eagerness for new Beyoncé content.
While the single is framed as part of the “B’Day” anniversary festivities, it has also reignited speculation about potential directions for her anticipated “Act III” album, although Parkwood Entertainment has not confirmed any future projects.
The release emphasizes Beyoncé’s ability to make past work relevant through fresh content, and reflects the lasting impact of her early career as a defining solo artist through her diverse musical styles.
Notable tracks from the original “B’Day” album include hits like “Déjà Vu,” “Irreplaceable,” and “Get Me Bodied,” underlining its significance in Beyoncé’s discography and musical evolution.
