The 3rd annual Caribbean Music Awards will also honor soca pioneer Super Blue and acclaimed producer Kerwin Du Bois. The event is set to take place on Thursday, August 28 , at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, NYC.

DJ Mel Boogie

Hailing from Toronto, DJ MelBoogie is one of Canada’s most renowned female DJs, with a career spanning over 30 years. Known for her contributions to community and music organizations, she made history as the DJ for the 2023 JUNO Awards’ tribute to 50 years of hip-hop, sharing the stage with Canadian icons like Kardinal Offishall, Michie Mee, and Choclair in a performance watched by 2.2 million viewers nationwide.

As chair of the JUNO Rap Advisory Board, MelBoogie has worked to amplify women’s voices in the industry. She also co-founded the Black Music Brunch with Maestro Fresh Wes, an annual event celebrating contributors to Black music in Canada.
