Chris Brown avoided jail time Monday after a judge handed him a suspended 8-month sentence for a 2023 attack at a London nightclub.

Brown pleaded guilty to hitting a music producer on the head with a tequila bottle, while his co-defendant Omololu Akinlolu punched the victim.

Akinlolu received a suspended 4-month sentence for his role in the assault.

Before handing down the sentence, Judge Tony Baumgartner said, “Your fame, commercial success and professional standing do not entitle you to special treatment.”

The judge stated, “The law applies equally to everyone.”

Police issued a warrant after the victim went to the hospital, and officers eventually arrested Brown when he returned to the UK for a tour in May 2025.

Senior prosecutor Claire Campbell said the incident was a vicious and unprovoked attack on a defenseless victim.
