Brian Helgeland, known for his Oscar-winning work on “L.A. Confidential,” has been hired to write a crossover film featuring Django from “Django Unchained” and Zorro, based on a 2014 comic series co-written by Quentin Tarantino and Matt Wagner.
The new film will focus on a fresh storyline, with Django, played by Jamie Foxx, teaming up with Zorro, who has been portrayed by Anthony Hopkins and Antonio Banderas in previous films.
Tarantino has expressed interest in the Django/Zorro crossover for years and has previously sought other writers for the project, although those efforts did not materialize until now.

While Foxx and Banderas have yet to officially sign on to the project, Banderas has previously acknowledged Tarantino’s interest in involving him, suggesting the collaboration is on his radar.

Tarantino has not released a new film since 2019’s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and has previously mentioned retirement plans after his tenth film, though those plans have evolved over time.
