Drake’s gold and diamond Rolex GMT Master II, worn on the cover of his 2011 album *Take Care*, has sold for $500,000, significantly exceeding its estimated market value by $400,000.
The watch was sold through Wind Vintage, a Palm Beach-based watch specialist, and immediately received multiple offers after being listed at its full selling price.

Features of the watch include an engraving of the OVO owl logo on the back, as well as showing signs of wear such as minor scratches on the clasp and caseback.

Eric Wind, the owner of Wind Vintage, highlighted the booming collectible watch market, noting that watches are selling rapidly and attracting a diverse group of educated buyers, suggesting a stable demand.

The sale of the Rolex highlights its unique provenance, linked to one of the most significant albums of the past two decades, *Take Care*, which has influenced both music and fashion.

The watch was originally lent to Drake by a colleague for the album’s promotional activities and is not his personal property, contradicting initial assumptions about ownership.
Along with the watch, the sale package includes OVO memorabilia such as an OVO owl statue and backstage passes, adding further value to the purchase.
The recent sale emphasizes the growing trend of watches being regarded as passion investments, with record-breaking sales occurring in the vintage watch sector despite challenges faced by the broader Swiss watch industry.
