Google has revealed its top trending searches of 2025.
Charlie Kirk was the highest trending search in the United States, following his assassination while speaking at Utah Valley University.
“KPop Demon Hunters” was a top trending topic, with Labubus, monster dolls based on Nordic mythology, ranking third on the list.
The government shutdown, President Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act, and tariffs were also among the trending topics of the year.
Google’s Year in Search data was collected from Jan. 1 through Nov. 25, compiling moments, people, topics, events, and places that captured the world’s attention in 2025.
Google clarified that the lists of trending topics should not be confused with the most searched topics by number of searches, as they represent unique spikes in interest for the year.
