The entertainer’s daughter, Brittney Atkins, is expecting her first baby.

Rule told PEOPLE, “It’s a blessing. I’m very, very happy and excited. My first child was my daughter, a girl, and my first grandchild is also going to be a girl.”
“I think I’m going to steal my name from the Notorious B.I.G. Yeah. I love it when they call me Big Poppa,” he said, laughing.
After the announcement, Shepherd gifted him a custom-made cardigan with the words “Big Poppa” written on it.
“I love it,” he said excitedly. “Big Poppa is in the building.”
He added, “If I wasn’t soft enough, we are going to take a second dose of it, but I’m so happy. I can’t wait to see her. It’s weird, you get older, and then you get back into little people mode. You want a little person around again in the house. All my kids are grown, so it’s been a long time, so it’s going to be a lot of fun for me and the missus.”
