LL Cool J is set to host the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards!

The big event airs live coast-to-coast from New York’s UBS Arena on Sunday, September 7 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on CBS.

The show will also simulcast on MTV and stream on Paramount+ in the U.S. LL previously co-hosted the show in 2022 alongside Nicki Minaj and Jack Harlow. This time he’s doing it solo.
Additional performers, presenters, and special guests will be announced in the coming weeks.

LL Cool J won his first Moon Person in 1991 for Best Rap and became the first rapper to receive the Video Vanguard Award in 1997.

Hailing from Toronto, DJ MelBoogie is one of Canada’s most renowned female DJs, with a career spanning over 30 years. Known for her contributions to community and music organizations, she made history as the DJ for the 2023 JUNO Awards’ tribute to 50 years of hip-hop, sharing the stage with Canadian icons like Kardinal Offishall, Michie Mee, and Choclair in a performance watched by 2.2 million viewers nationwide.
