Mattel Unveils Venus Williams Barbie Doll

Mattel has unveiled a new Venus Williams Barbie.

Williams is featured in Barbie’s Inspiring Women Series, celebrating her advocacy for equal pay in tennis.

The design highlights Venus’s look at Wimbledon 2007. When she won the prestigious tournament, it was the first year men and women received equal prize money.

Williams hopes the doll inspires young girls to believe in themselves and advocate for change.

The doll is the second Barbie to honor Venus. The first was released in 2024.

Hailing from Toronto, DJ MelBoogie is one of Canada’s most renowned female DJs, with a career spanning over 30 years. Known for her contributions to community and music organizations, she made history as the DJ for the 2023 JUNO Awards’ tribute to 50 years of hip-hop, sharing the stage with Canadian icons like Kardinal Offishall, Michie Mee, and Choclair in a performance watched by 2.2 million viewers nationwide.
