Michael Jackson’s Thriller Reigns Supreme Again After Four Decades

More than forty years after its release, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” is officially back at number one on multiple Billboard charts.

The iconic album just climbed from second to first place across three separate charts.

This massive surge actually places the King of Pop in the highest two spaces on the Top R&B Albums chart.

“Thriller” claimed the ultimate top spot on the list, which ranks albums based on both physical sales and digital streaming numbers.

Its rapid rise to number one actually blocked Jackson’s own “Number Ones” compilation from taking the crown, forcing it to hold steady in second place.

“Number Ones” and “The Essential Michael Jackson” now remain his only two projects to ever stall in that runner-up position.

The renewed interest in Jackson’s music can be linked to the success of the record-breaking biopic, Michael.
