Netflix Takes Monopoly To A Whole New Level

Netflix has officially greenlit a new competition series based on the classic board game Monopoly.

The game features 12 players vying for a grand prize of $2 million.

The competition will unfold on a life-sized version of Monopoly Town Square, where players will start on equal footing but must engage in strategic negotiations and decisions to avoid elimination and bankruptcy.

Previous attempts to adapt Monopoly into television formats were less successful, resulting only in a couple of short-lived game shows in 1990 and 2015.

The new Monopoly is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2027.
