The intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue in South Los Angeles has been officially renamed Nipsey Hussle Square.

Nipsey Hussle’s former partner, Lauren London, shared an emotional tribute, recalling how Nipsey envisioned the dedication during their early relationship.

Blacc Sam, Nipsey’s older brother and CEO of The Marathon brand, conveyed the significance of the location, highlighting its history as a site where Nipsey sold mixtapes and aimed to establish community ownership.

The area is set to become the headquarters for the Neighborhood Nip Foundation, which will focus on providing educational opportunities and resources for local youth, including a professional-grade recording studio.

The foundation’s model incorporates accountability, requiring students to complete study hours before accessing certain facilities.

City officials, including LA City Council leaders, attended the dedication ceremony, emphasizing Nipsey’s philanthropic work and his deep-rooted connections to South Los Angeles.

In addition to the naming, The Marathon brand continues to expand, with plans for a new Marathon Burger location opening through a partnership with Snoop Dogg.
