Method Man has finally heard pieces of Wu-Tang Clan’s legendary, one-of-a-kind album Once Upon a Time in Shaolin, and his first review is surprisingly positive.

During a recent listening session in Brooklyn, he praised the beats and his groupmates and said, “I do not hate this album,” calling it a valid piece of art.

However, his praise came with limits, as he noted some parts ran long and felt the production leaned too close to RZA’s signature sound.

Method Man also said he still questions how his vocals ended up on the project, explaining he had no idea the verses he recorded were for a single-copy release.

He previously called the project an uncomfortable subject for the group and views it more as a compilation than a true Wu-Tang Clan album.

Martin Shkreli originally bought the infamous record before the government seized it and sold it to an art collective for $4 million.
