Rihanna and A$AP Rocky experienced a harrowing incident on March 8th when they awoke to the sound of gunfire at their Beverly Hills home.

According to a police report which was released last week, Rihanna described what happened when the shooting began

Rihanna described the sounds of gunfire to police as “10 bangs of metal” and quickly realized bullets were hitting the windshield of the Airstream trailer where they were sleeping.

She alerted A$AP Rocky, and they hurried to secure their three young children, Rihanna’s mother, and their staff in the garage.

The shooter, identified as 35-year-old Ivanna Lisette Ortiz from Florida, arrived at the scene with an AR-15 assault rifle, ammunition, and a disguise; she reportedly fired around 20 rounds into the home.

Ortiz has been charged with 14 counts, including attempted murder and assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and pleaded not guilty. If convicted, she faces a potential life sentence.

During her court appearance last week, a judge upheld Ortiz’s bail at $1.875 million, citing serious public safety concerns and the premeditation evident in her actions.
