He grew up playing competitive basketball in Kansas and eventually earned a basketball scholarship to Fort Scott Community College.

His basketball roots shaped his career, he famously incorporated legendary coach John Wooden’s “Pyramid of Success” and philosophy into how he taught improv, which later became a major foundational piece for creating Ted Lasso.

Playing in 2 NBA All-Star Celebrity games, his love for the sport has been showcased in his court-side appearances at WNBA games.

His career off the court is stamped by four Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe award winners from his hit show Ted Lasso.
