Kiki Shepard, co-host of “Showtime at the Apollo,” passed away at age 74 due to a heart attack, as confirmed by her representative.

Shepard was a prominent figure on “Showtime at the Apollo,” co-hosting from 1987 to 2002 alongside various hosts, including Steve Harvey, Mo’Nique, and Sinbad, while becoming known as the “Apollo Queen of Fashion.”

Besides her television career, Shepard had a rich background in theater, performing in notable Broadway productions such as “Porgy and Bess” and “Your Arms Are Too Short To Box With God” during the late ’70s and early ’80s.

She maintained connections to “Showtime at the Apollo” even after her co-hosting duties ended, making cameo appearances in several television shows, including “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Everybody Hates Chris.”
