Usher FaceTime’d Kehlani to express he wasn’t happy with the initial song, saying, “I don’t like our song, but it’s because I think we can make a way better song”.
Instead of rejecting the collaboration, Usher wanted to ensure the final product was the best they could do.
They ended up creating a new song that Kehlani loves, which features a “rap-sung vibe”.
