One of Toronto’s Favourite Summer Activities Is Finally Making a Comeback

Now that the FIFA Fan Fest has wrapped up, one of Toronto’s most popular summer attractions is officially rolling back into the city.

The Bentway has announced that its 200-metre roller skating trail beneath the Gardiner Expressway will reopen on August 7,

Along with public skating, visitors can look forward to themed skate parties, beginner lessons, art workshops, family-friendly programming, and a brand-new after-school program for young city builders.

The return of the skating trail marks the start of another season packed with community events and outdoor fun.

Whether you’re an experienced skater or stepping onto wheels for the first time, The Bentway is shaping up to be one of the city’s must-visit spots this summer.

The Bentway Skate Trail + Skate Rentals

When: Aug. 8 to Sept. 27, 2026
Time: Fridays from 5 to 9 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 8 p.m.
Where: The Bentway Skate Trail — 250 Fort York Blvd.
Cost: Skating is free, Rentals start at $18 (plus tax)

Roller skate lessons

When: Aug. 7 to Sept. 25, 2026
Time: Two sessions: 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. or 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
