Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is shifting focus, with plans for Margot Robbie’s character to take center stage while Captain Jack Sparrow, portrayed by Depp, likely serves as a supporting character.
The last film in the franchise, 2017’s Dead Men Tell No Tales, was the lowest-grossing of the series, earning $795.9 million globally, compared to a total of $4.5 billion across five films.
Despite past controversies surrounding Depp, including accusations of domestic abuse from Amber Heard and his departure from Disney, the actor has expressed a willingness to return to the franchise under certain conditions.
