Voice of Transformer Optimus Prime, Peter Cullen, Dies at 85

Peter Cullen, renowned Canadian voice actor best known for voicing Optimus Prime in the original 1980s “Transformers” series, has died at the age of 85.

He passed away at his home in Los Angeles with his family by his side.

His extensive career spanned more than four decades, during which he reprised the role of Optimus Prime in multiple animated series, live-action films, TV shows, and video games, and was consistently recognized as the definitive voice of the character.

In addition to Optimus Prime, Cullen also voiced Eeyore in the “Winnie the Pooh” franchise and contributed to numerous other projects, including “Predator,” “Knight Rider,” “G.I. Joe: The Movie,” and many classic cartoons from the 1980s.
