The award recognizes Rihanna’s creativity and inclusivity, particularly her ability to identify and serve overlooked audiences in major industries.
The term “Fenty Effect” was coined to describe the industry’s response to Fenty Beauty, with other companies subsequently expanding their shade ranges to address representation in cosmetics.

In addition to Fenty Beauty, Rihanna has expanded her brand to include Fenty Skin, Fenty Hair, and Savage X Fenty.
Rihanna is also noted for being the first Black woman to lead a luxury brand under LVMH with the launch of the Fenty fashion house.
Her philanthropic efforts through the Clara Lionel Foundation, which she founded in 2012, include initiatives on climate resilience, health equity, and arts infrastructure in the Caribbean.
