- The trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs began on Monday after jury selection concluded.
- The prosecution opened its case by identifying two main accusers, Diddy’s former girlfriend Cassie Ventura, and a woman identified as “Jane.”
- Both the prosecution and defense said the jury will view videos of the reported “Freak-Off” parties. The prosecutors will show the problematic nature of the parties, while the defense wants to show that consenting adults attended the parties.
- Both sides agreed that Combs committed domestic violence, but his defense team said that it doesn’t mean he’s guilty of racketeering and sex trafficking.
- A witness for the prosecution, 41-year-old Daniel Phillip, said he was paid thousands of dollars between 2012 and 2014 to have sex with Ventura while Combs watched and pleasured himself.
- During the first day, the jury heard about many of the alleged delinquent behaviors from Diddy’s parties, including threesomes, prostitution, voyeurism, drugs, and large amounts of baby oil.
- Two rows of Diddy’s family showed up to support Combs.
