• Jon Jones has officially announced his retirement from UFC.

  • Jones said in a statement, “Today, I’m officially announcing my retirement from the UFC. This decision comes after a lot of reflection, and I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the journey I’ve experienced over the years.”
  • During a press conference, UFC head Dana White said, “Jon Jones called us last night and retired. Jon Jones is officially retired. Tom Aspinall is the heavyweight champion of the UFC.”
  • The 37-year-old Jones finished his career 28-1. He was the youngest UFC light heavyweight champion when he won the title at 23-years-old.
  • Jones has the most title fight wins in UFC history with 16. He also had a 20-fight unbeaten streak, which is another UFC record.
  • Jones transitioned to the heavyweight division in 2023 and won the championship at UFC 285.
