• The best team in the NBA finished the job.

  • The Oklahoma City Thunder captured the NBA Championship on Sunday night after winning Game 7 of the Finals series over the Indiana Pacers 103-91.
  • The title is the first in the Thunder’s history.
  • Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was the Finals MVP. He becomes the fourth player in NBA history to win MVP, Finals MVP, a scoring title and play for a champion in the same season. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar did it once, Michael Jordan then did it four times, and Shaquille O’Neal was the last entrant into that fraternity — until now.

  • The Pacers played most of the game without their All-Star Tyrese Haliburton. He was injured in the 1st quarter with a leg injury.
