• J. Cole’s long-anticipated album, “The Fall-Off,” is officially set for release on February 6th.

J. Cole has shared a track — “DISC 2 TRACK 2” — and a message…

“For the past 10 years, this album has been hand crafted with one intention: a personal challenge to myself to create my best work. To do on my last what I was unable to do on my first. I had no way of knowing how much time, focus and energy it would eventually take to achieve this, but despite the countless challenges along the way, I knew in my heart I would one day get to the finish line. I owed it first and foremost to myself. And secondly, I owed it to hip hop.”

It’s his first album since 2021’s “The Off-Season.”

The announcement was made through a cinematic trailer featuring J. Cole in everyday settings, culminating in a snippet of a new song and a voice-over discussing the concept of fame and its temporary nature.

“The Fall-Off” has been in the works for several years, with Cole teasing the project since at least 2018, including a track titled “1985 — Intro to ‘The Fall Off” on his album “KOD.”

Although fans expected the album in 2019, it did not materialize. Instead, Cole released “The Off-Season” in 2021, which broke streaming records and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.

Cole’s most recent project, the mixtape “Might Delete Later,” was released amid a brief feud with Kendrick Lamar and included a track that was later deleted following controversy.
