Hip-hop’s next generation has officially arrived.

Lil Wayne’s son, Lil Novi, and Kanye West’s daughter, North West, have joined forces on a new track titled Mula The Root of All Evil.

The collaboration came together after the two connected through TikTok and continued building a creative relationship. North had previously worked with Novi on production, making this latest release a natural next step.

Produced by VRTN, the song showcases two young artists carrying some of the biggest legacies in hip-hop while carving out their own identities. Speaking with Vibe Magazine, Novi explained that the title reflects his personal outlook on success and money, while also pushing back against being labeled a “nepo baby.”

The release adds to a busy year for North West, who recently performed at Rolling Loud and continues to build momentum following the release of her debut EP.

For hip-hop fans, it’s a surreal full-circle moment. Years after Lil Wayne and Kanye West helped define an era of rap, their children are now creating music together.
