A documentary titled “Young Thug on Trial” is set to premiere on Netflix in 2027, chronicling the high-profile legal battle of rapper Young Thug.
The documentary will explore Young Thug’s rise in the music industry and the legal challenges he faced during the YSL racketeering prosecution, which accused him and his label of being a criminal street gang.
Judge Paige Whitaker, who presided over the trial, confirmed her involvement in the documentary during a recent interview, noting an exclusivity clause prevents her from discussing specifics until the release.
The documentary’s description emphasizes the case as a broader commentary on artistic expression and the American justice system, questioning how hip-hop and street culture became central to national conversations on crime and art.
