By Lizzie Poliakova Who said cooking has to be hassle? Take in some of these food hacks so that you can spend less time in the kitchen and more time with your friends and family during the holidays. 1. Use a Muffin Tin to Prepare Eggs in Bulk Whether you are looking to make 12 hardboiled eggs, or you need the last ingredient for those early morning breakfast sandwiches, the muffin tin is here to help. If you have extra stuffing left it can also go in the muffin tin and come out as mini appetizers. 2. Use a Straw to get Rid of the Green Top of the Strawberry Everyone wants to make a perfect looking dessert. If you are going to make some chocolate covered strawberries use a straw to poke everything unnecessary out of the berry by starting from the bottom. 3. Use Crushed Candy Canes as Toppings Candy canes are popular stocking stuffers and giveaways at school and work. With all the abundance of this sweet treat this hack makes it easy to put them to good use. Crush some candy canes and use them as toppings for hot chocolate, cookies, or pastries. 4. Boil Potatoes Before Peeling Them If you need to make mashed potatoes for twenty people the prep work can be enough for your stress levels to go through the roof. Not to worry! Boil the potatoes first. Then you can peel the skin right off the cooked potatoes with your bare hands.
This holiday season stress less about the prep work, and just enjoy your time with family and friends! |
