By NoBetterNina (@nobetternina) The latest “holiday” in question is Halloween, and for some the year just isn’t complete without some witches, zombies and goblins roaming the streets at night. But fear not! While trick or treating might be very different, and even non-existent for some this year, there are still socially distanced Halloween events you can safely attend. Halloween Night of Lights Halloween Night of Lights is a family-friendly drive thru experience featuring over 700,000 LED lights synchronized to your favourite spooky music. It’s about a 2km drive, totaling to be a 30 minute experience, with Halloween themed music playing in your car via the FM dial. Halloween Night of Lights is the first of its kind in Canada, and will be taking place in Vaughan from October 1 – November 1. Tickets are available for purchase online at $25 per cars of 2 people, $40 per cars of 3-5 people and $65 per cars of 6-8 people, and a portion of proceeds will be going toward Epilepsy Toronto. Boo at he Zoo Boo at the Zoo, taking place at the Toronto Zoo of course, is another family friendly event scheduled for weekends from October 10 – October 31. The event will feature a “Hay-lloween” town with lots of hay bales, fall décor and photo ops, along with an all-new attraction called the Boomobile. The Boomobile is a 40-minute-long spooky adventure that will take you around the zoo, while listening to some facts about animals and ghosts that haunt the zoo. In following COVID-19 protocol, the Boomobile will be sanitized between each ride, with limited seating available to enforce social distancing, while all guests will be required to wear a mask. This year, children two and under are free, while everyone else will be required to purchase a ticket online to enter the zoo. “Hay-lloween” town is included in your entry ticket, but the Boomobile is an additional $25 for members of the zoo or $30 for non-members. In following COVID-19 guideline, this year’s event will feature a physically distanced tour with a séance, Halloween races & games, a spooky fairy-tale puppet show, a gruesome medicine and sneaky science show, and a hunt for treats in some of the village’s heritage buildings. Howling Hootenanny will take place on weekends from October 17 – October 31, with tickets ranging from $11 - $15. In addition to Howling Hootennany, the village also offers more spooky haunted walks and tours for adults aged 18 and up as well.
