While sip and paint is no new concept, with the way the world is working these days, in theory you might think your days of wine-ing and painting with your friends or SO are over…right? Wrong!
With everything from fitness classes to therapy moving online, you can now drink-o and paint-o in the comfort of your house! Here are FIVE virtual sip and paints you can do at home;
Yaymaker have made all of their paint nights virtual on the streaming platform Zoom. Not only can you interact with a live teacher but you can also get your friends to join. They offer tons of painting classes and other cool DIY classes like soap making. These classes are under $20 not including the cost of supplies and of course, booze.
THE STUDIO PAINT BAR
The Studio Paint Bar in Mississauga is offering up paint and pour style beginners classes for under $20. They are offering classes that don’t require paint kits, and encourage that you use and recycle canvases you already have. Just like Yaymaker they will send you a Zoom link after confirming your purchase so you can connect, drink and paint with a live teacher and other students!
Virtual Instructor is a fun resource for you closeted creatives who want to develop your skills, or for those of you who want to leave self-quarantine with a brand new skill! They not only offer pre-recorded tutorial style paint classes, but they also offer a wide variety of live virtual painting and drawing classes for all levels. You can access it all FREE if you sign up for a 7-day free trial. It’s really easy to sign up and even easier to cancel if you feel so inclined.
Even though Skill Share has been on everyone’s radar for tutorials of all kinds, but did you know they offer paint tutorials to beginners as well.
You can learn painting today and maybe graphic design tomorrow, the options are endless. And this too is FREE! Skill Share is now offering a free TWO-month trial for all of its classes—including painting. All you have to do is signup on their website.
Katie Jobling is an English YouTuber and artist offering up free beginners painting tutorials on her YouTube channel. She specializes in painting landscapes and nature but also offers tutorials easy enough for kids and beginners to follow, tutorials are free of charge but don’t forget to bring your own supplies and of course BYOB.
We should mention, Dollar Tree is still open with limited hours during COVID-19 as is considered an essential store. Here you can find all the supplies you need for a paint and wine night; including canvases, paint, brushes and of course snacks all for under $10.
Whether you are ballin’ on budget or overcome with boredom, there is no better time to pour yourself a massive glass of vino and channel your inner Vincent Van Gogh. A little art and a little buzz can go a long way in raising your spirits during a pandemic, just please forgo cutting off your ear. You might need it when all of this is over.
