​It's hard to say Pete Rock without CL Smooth followed behind it. It's like having peanut butter without the jelly; it still tastes good but the infusion of the two is so much better. Pete Rock and CL Smooth are a hip hop duo who was big in the 90's. Their timeless classic "TROY (They Reminisce over You)" off the album Mecca & The Soulbrother is now 25 years old which is a cause for celebration.

​The anniversary led to a spring tour and a range of performances which included their 'Blowout Blocko' performance here in Toronto. Apart from that, Pete and CL Smooth have embarked on their own endeavours but we can look forward to collaboration on a new album which is set to be released later this year. Although details on the album weren't provided, CL Smooth gave us some insight on what it's like to work with Pete, his take on today's music and much more.
